Shipping Policy

Last updated 14 August 2026

We ship handmade solid-wood furniture from our atelier in Kottayam, Kerala, to addresses across India and internationally. Because these are heavy, oversized pieces, freight is quoted per order rather than built into the listed price. This policy explains how that works, how long dispatch takes, and what to expect on delivery day.

How shipping is charged

The price shown on a product page and at checkout covers the product only. Shipping is quoted separately once we know the destination, the size and weight of the piece, and the access at your address. We send that quote to you by email and WhatsApp for your approval before dispatch — for both domestic and international orders. Nothing ships, and no freight is charged, until you have approved the quote in writing.

01

Where we ship

  • India — we deliver to all serviceable pin codes nationwide.
  • International — we ship worldwide, subject to a serviceable route and any export or import restrictions applying to timber products at the destination.

If we cannot service your address, we will tell you before taking any freight payment and will refund your order in full if you prefer not to proceed.

02

Dispatch timelines

  • Domestic orders — dispatched within 1 – 3 weeks of order confirmation and approval of the shipping quote.
  • International orders — dispatched within 1 – 3 weeks of order confirmation and approval of the shipping quote, after which transit time depends on the route and destination.
  • Made-to-order and customised pieces — where a piece is built to a size, timber, finish or upholstery you have specified, we confirm the build time in writing when we take the order. Dispatch follows completion of the build.

These timelines are working estimates from the date your payment is confirmed, not guarantees. Peak season, monsoon conditions in Kerala, timber curing and courier capacity can all extend them. If your order will be materially delayed we will contact you with a revised date, and you may cancel for a full refund if the new date does not work for you.

03

How the shipping quote is worked out

The freight quote reflects the actual cost of moving the piece, and depends on:

  • The destination — distance, and whether the pin code or country is on a standard freight route.
  • The volumetric weight and dimensions of the crated piece, and the number of pieces in the order.
  • Crating and protective packing, which we build specifically for each piece.
  • Access at your address — stairs, narrow approaches, restricted vehicle access or a high floor without a service lift.
  • For international orders, the freight mode (sea or air), port handling and export documentation.

Quotes are valid for 14 days. Once you approve a quote we raise a separate payment link through Razorpay for the freight amount.

04

Packing, delivery and installation

Every piece is wrapped, corner-protected and crated in our own workshop before it leaves the atelier. On domestic deliveries our team calls ahead to agree a delivery window, brings the piece into the room of your choice, assembles it where assembly is required, and removes the packaging. International deliveries are handed over according to the incoterms stated on your quote, which may be kerbside rather than in-room.

  • Someone aged 18 or over must be present at the address to receive and sign for the delivery.
  • Please confirm before ordering that the piece will pass through every door, stairwell, lift and corridor on its route. We cannot accept a return because a piece does not fit.
  • Where access requires a crane, hoist or additional labour, that cost is yours and will be quoted before delivery.
  • If nobody is available on the agreed date, redelivery or storage charges may apply.
05

Tracking your order

You receive an order confirmation by email as soon as your payment is verified, and a dispatch notification with tracking details when the piece leaves our atelier. You can check the status at any time on our order tracking page using your order number, or by messaging us on WhatsApp at +91 94002 33733.

06

Customs, duties and taxes on international orders

Our quoted price and freight charge do not include import duty, customs clearance charges, GST or VAT levied at the destination, or any local handling fee. These are set by the destination country, are payable by you as the importer of record, and must be settled before the carrier will release the shipment.

Please check your own country’s rules on importing wooden furniture before ordering — some destinations require fumigation certification or restrict particular timber species. We provide the standard export documentation, phytosanitary certification and commercial invoice for every international shipment. If a shipment is refused, abandoned or returned because duties were not paid, the outbound and return freight costs are not refundable.

07

Address accuracy

Please check your delivery address and phone number carefully at checkout. We ship to the address recorded on the order. Tell us within 24 hours if you need to correct it — once a piece is crated and handed to the carrier, an address change may not be possible, and any re-routing charge is payable by you.

08

Damage in transit

Inspect the packaging before you sign. If it is visibly damaged, photograph it and note the damage on the delivery docket, or refuse the delivery if the damage is severe. Any damage found after unpacking must be reported within 48 hours, as set out in our Refund & Cancellation Policy.
