Every Neem Traditional Study Desk begins as neem wood, prized across South Asia, chosen board by board in our Manarcadu atelier for natural density, antibacterial character and a deep honey tone. Our carpenters join the frame the traditional Kerala way — mortise-and-tenon and dovetail joinery, no metal fasteners where wood can do the work — so the piece tightens with the seasons instead of loosening. The Traditional silhouette is finished in hand-applied natural oils, applied and buffed entirely by hand. From first saw cut to final polish, it is built by the same small team, signed off by the master who trained them, and made to be passed down.
Dust the timber with a soft, dry cloth; wipe spills promptly and avoid silicone sprays or harsh solvents. Re-nourish the finish once or twice a year with a natural furniture oil or beeswax balm. Keep a hand-width from direct heat sources and out of harsh afternoon sun — solid wood likes stable humidity. Small marks can be buffed out with fine steel wool and oil; this is furniture built to be repaired, not replaced.
